What do you really want? And what might be standing between you and the life you wish to create?
At the beginning of a new year, we're often encouraged to set resolutions, make plans and become better versions of ourselves. But how often do we pause long enough to consider what we genuinely desire, beyond the expectations, responsibilities and habits that shape our everyday lives?
The Magic Within is an invitation to explore the power of intention, the wisdom of desire and the ancient practices that help us live with greater awareness and purpose.
Join Clare Lovelace and Carmela Pavlic Searle for an experiential workshop bringing together yoga philosophy, the traditions of witchcraft, ritual, reflection and practical tools for intentional living.
Drawing on both ancient wisdom and contemporary experience, we'll explore how intention becomes meaningful when it is supported by clarity, conscious choices and action.
This is not about wishful thinking or magically manifesting the perfect life. It's about understanding yourself more deeply, recognising what matters to you and learning how to work with your own capacity for change.
What we'll explore
Part One — The Power of Intention
We'll begin by exploring the history and significance of intention within yogic and magical traditions.
What does it mean to set an intention? How is intention different from simply wanting something? And why have humans used ritual, reflection and symbolic practices for centuries to mark transitions and create meaning?
Through discussion, guided reflection and simple ritual, we'll establish a foundation for the workshop.
Part Two — Desire: What Do You Really Want?
Desire is often misunderstood. We might suppress it, judge it, or pursue things without questioning whether they truly matter to us.
In this session, we'll explore desire as a source of information about our values, needs and aspirations.
Through journaling, guided inquiry and optional group sharing, you'll have the opportunity to consider what you genuinely want to cultivate in your life, what might be holding you back and what meaningful change could look like.
Part Three — Boundaries, Protection & Bringing It Into Your Life
Intention becomes powerful when we begin to live in alignment with it.
Our final session explores the importance of boundaries, discernment and energetic protection within traditional magical practices, alongside practical ways to protect our time, attention and wellbeing.
We'll also discover the magic hidden in everyday objects, exploring how simple things like roses, salt and even your coffee can become meaningful tools for intention and ritual. Drawing on traditional symbolism and magical correspondences, we'll learn how to bring ritual into ordinary moments, making these practices accessible, personal and part of everyday life.
We'll close with a simple ritual to honour our intentions and identify realistic next steps to carry into the year ahead.
What to expect
A welcoming and engaging three hours of discussion, guided reflection, journaling, ritual and shared exploration.
No previous experience with yoga philosophy, witchcraft or ritual is required. Come with an open mind, curiosity and a willingness to explore.
Bring a journal, a pen and something you'd like to give more attention to in the coming year.
About your facilitators
Carmela Pavlic Searle
Carmela walks between the practical and the magical. A witch, mother, professional leader and lifelong seeker, her spiritual practice is grounded in nature, intuition, ritual and personal transformation.
Alongside her professional career and family life, Carmela has developed a practice honouring the elements, the seasons and the wisdom found in reflection and intention.
She brings together witchcraft and yoga as complementary approaches to living with greater awareness, connection and meaning. Her work focuses on making these traditions accessible, offering simple and practical ways to reconnect with ourselves, the natural world and the sense of magic that can sometimes be lost in the demands of modern life.
For Carmela, witchcraft is not about escaping everyday life, but about engaging with it more consciously.
