Yoga 101 - Beginners Course

Yoga 101: A 6 Week Beginner Course

Think yoga isn’t for you?
Not flexible enough, too stiff, too busy, or just not your thing?

This course is for you.

Yoga 101 is a simple, practical, step-by-step introduction designed for real people, real bodies, and real life. No experience needed, no pressure to “be good” at it, and absolutely no need to touch your toes.

Over six weeks, you’ll learn the foundations of yoga in a way that actually makes sense. Each class builds on the last, so you’ll leave feeling more confident, more capable, and ready to walk into any class on the timetable without second guessing yourself.

Whether you’re a tradie with a tight back, someone returning to movement, or just curious but unsure where to start, this is your entry point.
Or, if you’ve been coming to yoga for years and want to revisit the basics and refine your foundations, you’ll get just as much out of it.

How the 6 weeks work

Each week we focus on a different part of a typical yoga class, breaking it down in a clear and practical way:

Week 1 — Getting started
How to warm up your body properly, move with your breath, and feel comfortable on the mat.

Week 2 — Flowing movement
Learn simple sequences (often called sun salutations) that link movement and breath together.

Week 3 — Standing poses (hip opening)
Build strength and stability while gently improving flexibility through the hips and legs.

Week 4 — Standing poses (strength & support)
Focus on alignment and strength in more stable, grounded positions.

Week 5 — Twists & forward folds
Release tension in the back and hamstrings, and learn how to move safely into these common shapes.

Week 6 — Gentle inversions
Explore simple ways of going upside down, or partially upside down, to build confidence and shift perspective.
