A transformational training for people who want to deepen their practice, reconnect with themselves, and learn how to teach yoga in an authentic, grounded and embodied way.

This training is about far more than becoming a yoga teacher.

It’s about learning how to trust yourself.

It’s about finding your voice.
Learning how to regulate your nervous system.
Learning how to move through life with more clarity, courage and compassion.

Yes, you’ll learn how to teach exceptional yoga classes.

But more importantly, you’ll learn how to live your life with greater awareness, confidence and presence.

You do not need to be advanced.
You do not need to be flexible.
You do not need to want to teach.
You do not need to have your life figured out.

I invite you to trust the ‘strange pull of what you really love’. As Rumi says, it will never lead you astray.

Yoga Teacher Training Is A Training For Life

I dont usually throw statements like this around, but I truly believe everyone should do a yoga teacher training with a teacher who resonates with them.

It doesn’t matter if you dont want to teach yoga in a class setting.

It doesn’t matter if you cant hold handstand or bend yourself into a million positions.

It doesn’t matter if you dont think you’re calm, spiritual, flexible, young, old, or ‘good’ enough.

A yoga teacher training teaches you how to take responsibility for your life.

You learn how to:

  • regulate your nervous system

  • work with your thoughts rather than be controlled by them

  • communicate more honestly

  • navigate conflict with greater awareness

  • move through challenges with grace and resilience

  • stop abandoning yourself

  • trust your intuition

  • live with more peace, gratitude and purpose

You grow within a deeply supportive group environment with one on one mentoring throughout the training.

We can do hard things, gently.

Meet Your Lead Teacher

Clare Lovelace

I completed my first yoga teacher training in 2013 with Mathew Bergan from Dancing Warrior Yoga in Sydney.

At the time, I was almost 30, completely unsure of myself, deeply anxious, and convinced I wasn’t capable of teaching.

Yoga changed my life.

Not because it made everything perfect, but because it taught me how to trust myself for the first time.

Since then I’ve devoted my life to teaching, studying and sharing these practices. I’ve studied with internationally respected teachers including Sarah Powers, Shiva Rea and Simon Borg-Olivier, taught at studios across Sydney, worked with organisations including UNICEF and ABC Broadcasting, and founded Soul Tribe Studio in 2018.

For the past decade I’ve been leading teacher trainings, retreats and classes that combine strong intelligent sequencing with deep philosophy, nervous system awareness and authentic human connection.

My intention is not to create carbon copy teachers.

My intention is to help you uncover your own authentic voice.

A Personal Story

On the eve of my first yoga teacher training in 2013 I was sitting in the kitchen with my then boyfriend, feeling sick with nerves. What am I doing, I said. I cant be a yoga teacher. I cant even ‘do’ yoga very well. I’m completely uncoordinated, I have zero qualifications, I don’t have a home, I don’t have any money, I’m almost 30, my life is a mess. I’m so scared I’ll fail at this as well, and then that will be it.

He looked at me.

You’ll be fine. He said, ever nonchalant. Have another beer.

I didn’t think that would help but I drunk it anyway.

The next day I got up at 5am which was unheard of for me back in those days. The only 5 am I ever saw was on the way home from a party. I got on the train to St Peters. I had my yoga books under my arm. The only other people on the train were bleary eyed tradies in fluro vests drinking cans of Monster. I arrived at Dancing Warrior Yoga. My training had begun.

Over the course of the next few months I quickly realised a few things.

  • I mumbled and no one could hear me. I was constantly told to speak up.

  • I was terrible at arm balancing, handstands, planks, anything involving arm strength.

  • I couldn’t learn sequences

  • I had problems with left and right

BUT

  • I had a natural aptitude for yoga philosophy

  • I remembered I loved to write

  • I realised that with enough practice I could do anything

  • I started to believe in myself for the first time since I was a little girl

During that training I turned 30. We went to the local cafe and my teacher Matt bought me lunch. You’re so young. Everyone said.  I didn’t feel it. 30 felt so old. Surely at 30 I’m supposed to feel like an adult. Surely I’m meant to have a house, or at least a car, or savings or kids? All I had was a tattered backpack and some falling apart clothes and a string of unsuitable relationships.

A huge part of the training was learning to teach, which meant mock classes, getting up in front of the group and leading a sequence. Somehow I hadn’t quite realised that teaching yoga meant speaking in front of people. I would get so nervous my voice would crack and my hands would shake so much I couldn’t hold my notes.

It’s easy to look at someone teaching and think they were born like that. I’ve been teaching for 10 years and not just teaching a little bit. I threw myself into teaching yoga with everything I had. I was desperate, but more than that I was on fire. Something had been ignited within me that would never go out. I soaked up every mystical word. Even though in many ways teaching was the hardest thing I’d ever done, and I was objectively terrible at it, I kept going. I got really lucky. I’ve had brilliant teachers and brilliant mentors who tell me how it is and dont let me get away with blaming others for my problems, or running away when it gets challenging.

My greatest teacher has been my own inner strength. I never would have considered myself a strong person. Definitely not a leader. I thought I was the opposite. Fade into the background, go with the flow, never rock the boat.

In my most outlandish dreams I never could have imagined I’d be here.  Its 2026. I’m at the helm of a successful yoga studio, 9 years in. Thriving in business against all odds. Doing it my way. Never writing a business plan. Never writing a budget. No formal education. Just a whole lot of passion, determination and old fashioned hard work. When I first started soul tribe we had 3 regular students. Now the newsletter is read by over 4000 people. When I first started the whole building was empty. A ghost town. I was sleeping in my van in the carpark. Between classes I’d basically beg people to come in and drop thousands of flyers that probably never got read all over town. Many people told me to give up. They told me it wouldn’t work.  They told me that so many people had tried and failed to run businesses in the Bay. Especially yoga businesses. It’s not going to happen they said.

I didn’t believe them. And anyway I had nothing to lose. I’d packed up my life and started again so many times I wasn’t afraid. The skills I learnt in that first yoga training course taught me how to trust my intuition. Yoga gave me the courage to say yes, and no, at the right times. Which is really all life is. a series of choices. Yes or no.

If you’re feeling called to step up and really embody the qualities you want to receive, peace, joy, abundance, success, love, play, isn’t it time you said yes?

I’ve been designing and leading exceptional teacher trainings for years now. That’s hundreds of students who overcame self doubt, self sabotage and stories of lack to live the life they always dreamed of. Many of them are teaching yoga and in love with it. Some have opened their own studios. Some are teaching in a quiet way, simply by living their lives with more awareness. Whatever the reason, yoga teacher training is the gateway to inner peace. It’s all within you.

FAQ

I can’t do advanced poses — does that matter?

Not at all. Yoga is not about performance. This training is about awareness, growth and embodiment, not achieving difficult shapes.

I dont want to teach yoga — will I still benefit?

Absolutely. Many students join purely for personal transformation and self development.

Will I be qualified to teach?

Yes. Upon completion you’ll receive certification through Yoga Alliance International.

What if I miss a weekend?

Recorded sessions, livestreaming and catch up options are available.

What Our Graduates Say

“There are so many components of YTT to be grateful for but the biggest one for me was the introduction to mantra and harmonium. My day is not full now until I have played my harmonium, expressed myself through singing and mantra and immersed myself in music. This practice is pure serotonin release through yogic history, devotion, storytelling, vibration, breath and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system at its best! Thank you, Clare for sharing this love, your angelic voice and creating this motivation in me.” ~ Narelle, 2025

“I started my yoga journey late….I was 62. Five years later, something called me to teachers training…..for personal growth rather than a desire to teach. I’ve grown, I’ve learnt, I’ve laughed and I’ve cried….so much more than I could have imagined. Clare is a true gem…passionate, dedicated, knowledgeable and understanding. And a very rare integrity. My classmates are all now lifelong friends, we have all grown together, laughed and cried together…..and learnt SO much together. What a wonderful journey. I have so much gratitude for …well, everything! So if you are looking for a challenge, an interest, a change of direction or just looking for insight, have a chat to Clare, or someone who has undertaken the journey. She makes a great chai! And who knows, maybe I will teach sometime after all.” ~ Steve 2025

“The skills I gained are priceless. I feel more confident, more connected and more aligned with my purpose.” — Sarah 2024
