Women’s Circle with Katie
Saturday 2nd May, 6:15–8:15pm
Free for members, $25 for non-members
Join us to celebrate Samhain, the ancient Gaelic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter in the Wheel of the Year. I like to think of it as the predecessor to modern Halloween, as it represents a time when the veil between this world and the otherworld is at its thinnest, allowing spirits to pass through.
We’ll come together with intentional presence as we share stories, craft, and drink cuppas.
In the Southern Hemisphere, this time of year signals a transition into the darker half of the year, with shorter days and less light.
I’d love to invite you to bring your own simple handcraft, anything you may already be working on or something you’d like to start, such as knitting, stitching, weaving, drawing, mending, or beading, anything that allows your hands to be occupied. I have found that while sitting in circle, when we create with our hands in the presence of other women, something ancient is evoked and we’re reminded of this natural way of gathering together.
There will be a selection of teas available, please help yourself on arrival and take time to settle in.
This space is intimate, with 12 cushions available, so please book in advance.
This circle is for you if:
You’re feeling the pull to slow down, simplify, and reflect
You’re curious to learn more about the Wheel of the Year
You long for deep and honest connection with women in community
If you’re coming to circle for the first time:
You don’t need to know what you’ll say. We practice deep listening and trust in our words.
You just need to show up as yourself, everything in circle is an invitation
Come along as you are and bring a craft if you have one you’re working on. If not, there will be pens and paper available for colouring or drawing.
I’d love to sit in circle with you. Reach out with any questions @_katie_oneill or via email katie@katieoneill.com.au
